I'd like to dedicate a small portion of this page to my favorite band...hmmmm, can anyone guess who it might be? YES! PM5K!I've provided a picture of Dorian (the bass player)to the right. OK, so as a true fan, I gotta recommend their albums: 'True Force', 'Mega! Kung Fu Radio' and 'Tonight The Stars Revolt', each is special in it's own way. If you don't have one of those...go get one, you won't regret it. The first thing you may notice about the band's awesome music style is the lyrics, they are packed with tales of rockets, robots, strange creatures and plenty more Science Fiction/Comic book kinda things. Here is a quote from Spider One (lead singer) about his writings:
"Because it's simply far more interesting than real life. Come on it seems to be a trend to keep everything real, you don't get a break from everyday life by hearing more about everyday life. The obsession with keeping it real, I call it, and everybody seems to try so damn hard to keep it real, I don't want to be real, it bores me. I want it unreal, a fantasy, something weird and wild. Straight Edge

Some of you may not know that I am Straight Edge or 'sXe'. I feel it's the second best thing one can call themselves (besides Christian, of course, which I also am). I know that all of you know what being Christian is all about, but many of you don't know what the heck 'straight edge' is...so, here's a little something that will maybe help you out.....
To me, Straight Edge is ultimate rebellion. It seems like almost everyone my age drinks and some do other drugs, and I not a person that likes to blend in with the crowd. Some might argue that straight edge is a type of conformity but I think that is true only when people put Xs on their hands and wear sXe clothing which I choose not to. Many kids use drugs as a way to rebel against their parents. Since I know most parents drink who are these kids rebelling against? Themselves. I never understand when people cry for freedom or anarchy while they let alcohol influence their decisions or become addicted to nicotine. Then who is in control? Is it really possible to be autonomous while you are physically and psychologically dependent on these substances? By purchasing alcohol and tobacco you are supporting industries that have sexist advertising, help fund right-wing Republicans' campaigns, and could care less about the consumers buying these products. People might think that I am against drugs or that I think I am better than drug users. For me, Straight Edge is an individual choice. I see no problem with people as long as they are responsible and do not risk other people's lives. Personally, I think that I am a better person poison free. Let's face it, there are plenty of assholes that do drugs, as well as there are many assholes in the Straight Edge community. To judge someone on the sole of basis of whether or not they use drugs is inaccurate. It seems like people focus so much attention to that one issue when I feel that there are much more important aspects of people and issues in the world to deal with.
Drinking, smoking, doing drugs, having sex w/ strangers....it's all something that I DON'T want a part of. I'd like to ask your support in my decision to be sXe. I won't preach it to you (I haven't yet have I?) but, I would just like to let everyone know that, YES, Jesus Christ is my Lord (therefore I am a Christian) and NO, I do not want poisons in my body. ThanX.
